Dr. Bertrand F. Cambou, Chairman and CEO
Dr. Bertrand F. Cambou brings to Crocus a successful track record of more than 29 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. His business and operational expertise will be instrumental in promoting the company’s growth as it brings MRAM products and technologies to the marketplace. Most recently, Cambou served as president of SST (Silicon Storage Technology, Inc.) (NASDAQ: SSTI), which was acquired by Microchip Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHP). In previous roles, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Spansion Inc., Senior Vice President of AMD’s memory group, and Chief Operating Officer at Gemplus International S.A. He also held various senior level positions at Motorola, Inc., including Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Networking Systems Group and Chief Technical Officer of the Semiconductor Product Group. Cambou holds a doctorate in physics and electrical engineering from Paris XI University where his dissertation focused on experimental magnetic memories. He also holds an engineering degree from SUPELEC in Paris, France, and a master’s degree in physics from Toulouse University.
Neal Berger, Director, Product Development
Neal has more than 25 years experience in the semiconductor industry, in design engineering and management roles. Prior to joining Crocus, Neal was Director of Design Engineering at Silicon Storage Technology, where he led teams in the design and development of leading-edge FLASH memory products. He has also held key engineering and management positions at Intel and Atmel Corp, responsible for a variety of non-volatile memory based products, including EPROM, EEPROM, FLASH, and Programmable Logic. Neal holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T, and Columbia University.
Barry Hoberman, CMO
Barry Hoberman brings to Crocus 30 years of semiconductor expertise with leadership and technical strength in semiconductor IP, memory and EDA. Hoberman was the founder and CEO of inSilicon, a leading semiconductor IP supplier serving the communications and connectivity markets, which was acquired by Synopsys in 2002. His industry leadership experience also includes CEO positions with Virtual Silicon and tZero Technologies. Hoberman also held various product management and development positions at Monolithic Memories and AMD. Hoberman holds B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and holds 14 US patents.
Pavel Klinger, Vice President, Business Development, Technology Licensing and Services
Pavel Klinger has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, where he assumed variety of engineering development and management roles. Before joining Crocus, Pavel held a position of Director of Technology Licensing at Silicon Storage Technology, a world leader in embedded memory, where he was focusing on expanding embedded flash technology business. Prior to that, Pavel was Director of Customer Engineering at Chartered Semiconductor, a leading semiconductor foundry in Singapore, where he successfully managed execution of the major customer programs, including transfer, prototyping and production ramp. Pavel was involved in the development of non-volatile memories, including EPROM, EEPROM and Flash. He was a leading technical contributor to Intel’s 45nm NOR flash development program. He has held various key engineering and management positions at Intel, AMD, Hynix, Information Storage Devices and Silicon Storage Technology. Prior to coming to Silicon Valley, Pavel also worked as research scientist in Ioffe Physical Technical Institute in Leningrad/St. Petersburg, one of the most famous research centers of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. He has authored or co-authored over 10 publications on defects in silicon and SiGe, as well as few more recent publications on various aspects of Flash memory physics. Pavel holds five patents granted in addition to several pending applications in the memory space. Pavel holds M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and a doctoral degree in Physics, both from Technical University, St. Petersburg.
